Facial Reflexology for Hormone Health

Hormones play a vital role in regulating energy, mood, sleep, metabolism, fertility, and overall wellbeing. When an imbalance, occurs symptoms can affect both physical and mental health. Hormone imbalances rarely have a single cause. They often result from a combination of lifestyle, environmental, and physiological factors, which disrupt the communication between the brain and the endocrine system resulting in many symptoms and side effects. These may include stress, disrupted sleep, blood sugar or nutritional instability, digestive/gut issues, inflammation, thyroid imbalance, or natural life stages such as puberty, pregnancy, or perimenopause and menopause.

How Facial Reflexology may support hormone balance

Facial reflexology is a gentle, non-invasive therapy that applies targeted pressure and massage to specific points on the face. These points (there are over 600 of them!) are believed to correspond to organs and systems throughout the body, including those in the endocrine system. Stimulating these reflex areas has a powerful effect on the central nervous system (CNS), easing stress and tension and encouraging overall balance, relaxation, and wellbeing.

Facial reflexology is often used to support: PMS and other menstrual irregularities such as PCOS and Endometriosis. It also helps to ease symptoms associated with the life stages such as puberty, perimenopause and menopause, thyroid function, fatigue and mood swings, as well as raised cortisol levels and stress related hormone imbalances.

Each treatment lasts around 45 minutes to an hour and begins with a facial cleanse, massage and lymphatic drainage followed by targeted work on the facial reflex points. Treatments are tailored to each individual, everyone is different and symptoms and side effects for hormone imbalances can vary from person to person. A full health consultation will be carried prior to initial treatment. As with foot Reflexology, there are some contraindications to prevent treatment, and cautions which must be exercised prior to treatment, all these will be discussed at the consultation.
