Although Reflexology certainly cannot induce labour, it may encourage nature to take its course. One of the many benefits of regular reflexology is restoring balance, especially of the endocrine system. Stress hormones nearer the due date may delay the onset of labour; reflexology helps to alleviate these stresses and anxieties and promotes a more relaxed and calm state in which the body can prepare itself for birth naturally.
Post-natal self-care is hugely important for physical and emotional well-being, and recovery. Post-natal Reflexology is balancing, harmonising and revitalising, and treatments following the birth encourage the body to return to its non-pregnant state.
As well as promoting a deep sense of relaxation and calm, Reflexology may also help to alleviate many post-natal ailments. These include muscle aches and pains, back ache, stiffness, lactation problems, breast engorgement, stress, anxiety and depression.
Maternity Reflexology, Preparation for Birth and Post-natal treatments last between 60-75 minutes and a full health consulation will be completed in adavance.
